Do I need physics for life sciences

from program comparisons to admission requirements to residence reviews—get real answers from real canadian students. you don’t need it to get into the program, but it’s highly recommended that you take it because it’s considered a core course. i decided to take both physics 11 and physics 12 in the coming school year, since i didn’t take physics 11. however, now i’m starting to doubt my choice. if i am going to drop physics 11 and 12, i’ll just take exercise science, a spare, english, 2 maths, bio and chem, and keyboard instead. i’m planning to apply to u of t ( scarborough/st. i heard that you have to write essays and such. all i know is, it’s probably going to be in the sciences.. but what science….i really have no idea.

does it matter what first-year program i am, as long as i meet the academic requirements? if you must take physics at uni, there is always the easy physics that you take in the 1st year for those who do not have g12. :cheers: you will be alright i did calculus, physics, bio, chem all in the same sem. as my friend was a person who didn’t have to study at all just everything worked he had a 97% average brought down by english and now has a 60%ish as he couldn’t handle it i would highly recommend physics, as it will prepare you for your first year physics class that you will inevitably have to take. your hectic semester will be nothing compared to the university workload that’s about to hit you. however, if you apply to a specialized program (like health science at mcmaster for example), they will require a supplementary application. if you’re just going for a plain jane arts or science degree, then marks will be enough. most large scholarships require separate applications with lots and lots and lots of essays.
