i’ve been working out since june last year, doing cardio and lifting primarily with classes thrown in here and there. i don’t see functional training talked about here much and couldn’t find what i was looking for in the search. i’ve done a program called functional training hypertrophy by john rusin and i really enjoyed it. i could barely finish the program. you also had the option to train as many days a week as you’d like, and it was very well balanced for strength and athleticism. i think it’s like $100, and was worth it for me. alternatively, you could check out the r/bodyweightfitness subreddit, they have lots of resources for functional training. the trainers push you and are there to support you, and it’s a great community.
check out the subreddit and someone posts the weekly workouts and you can see if you may be interested! i would definitely suggest checking it out, and going as much as you can that week. i was pretty sedentary leading up before f45 and it was tough to start, but it has completely changed my outlook on exercise 🙂 hope this helps! i have 1 studio in town and they offer a free week trial. i also wasn’t too sure about the group studio vibe, but i really enjoyed that aspect after trying it out. she has an app now too, which i haven’t used, but all her stuff on insta is functional training based and you could definitely use to design your own workout if you don’t want to pay for the app. usually i’m not interested in influencer products, but i love all the ninja stuff she can do in the gym and also want to be a ninja. you can make yourself a whole training program and only have to rely on this one piece of equipment to accomplish it. you can look up different wods online for ideas on hiit training you could incorporate.
